Could Ismail Sabri be 1st in RPK’s Top 10 wanted list to face the music as “Madani gov’t goes all-out to crackdown on defectors”?

PRIME Minister (PM) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s predecessor Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob is likely the “former top government leader from an East Coast state” who has been summoned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to assist in the investigation pertaining to the embezzlement of government funds worth millions of ringgit.

Commenting on the Utusan Malaysia report yesterday (Jan 1), fugitive blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin (RPK) expects the UMNO Bera MP who holds the record as the Malaysian PM with the shortest stint of 14 months and his principle private secretary Datuk Nazimah Hashim to face the anti-graft agency tomorrow (Jan 3) amid a short notice.

“Action may also be taken against Ismail Sabri for his link to the Dubai Move which is deemed as a conspiracy to overthrow the unity government,” speculated the Manchester, UK-based opposition-slant mercenary blogger in his latest video clip.

“Additionally, Ismail Sabri may be charged with treason for being treacherous to the Agong given the Madani administration has justified that the King – rather than the voters – is instrumental in establishing the unity government.”

It is also worthy to note that UMNO’s communications director Datuk Lokman Noor Adam has lodged a police report at the Setapak police station over the weekend to demand an investigation into the purported abuse of RM700 mil in public funding for the purpose of undertaking government advertisement, promotion and publicity from 2020-2022 (during the premiership of Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Ismail Sabri).

Innocence

Interestingly, the ninth premier has denied involvement or knowledge of an alleged plot hatched in Dubai to topple Anwar’s administration. Isnail Sabri went on to describe the attempt to associate himself with the movement as slander.

“I don’t know whether or not there is such a move. (Because) I am not involved and I did not go to Dubai,” the former UMNO vice-president told Malaysiakini. “I was in Mecca and Medina with my family performing umrah (mini haj)”

Right after that, Ismail Sabri said he returned to Malaysia. “From Mecca, I went straight back to Kuala Lumpur on Dec 31 at around 1am. So, how am I involved with the meeting in Dubai if I am not in Dubai? This (alleged involvement) is completely defamatory,” he added.

In this regard, his special officer Affifi Aris has also reiterated that the Bera MP boarded a direct flight to Kuala Lumpur without stopping in Dubai after safely performing the umrah as previously reported.

In a Facebook post, Affifi further shared photographs and videos showing Ismail Sabri meeting and shaking hands with Deputy Prime Minister and UMNO president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi after congregational prayers at the Nabawi Mosque in Medina. – Jan 2, 2023
