THE Sessions Court has set 15 days in March 2025 to hear the corruption case against Faisal Hamzah, the son of former minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.
Faisal is accused of receiving a RM100,000 bribe from Izmir Abd Hamid to secure the appointment of Rimba Merpati Sdn Bhd and Syarikat Per My Solutions as marketing consultants for HeiTech Padu Bhd.
The alleged offense is connected to a RM33 mil tender awarded to HeiTech Padu Bhd by the Companies Commission of Malaysia. The tender was for the supply, rental, implementation, training, support, and maintenance of IT security infrastructure.
Judge Rosli Ahmad set the trial dates during a case management session today. The trial is scheduled to run from March 24 to 28, April 14 to 18, and April 21 to 25, 2025. Another case management session will be held on Feb 21, 2025, to finalise the trial documents.
Prosecuting officer Ikhwan Zaudii Nordin informed the court that the prosecution plans to call around 20 witnesses to testify. Lawyer Chetan Jetwani appeared on behalf of Faisal. – Aug 29, 2024
