MALAYSIA has logged 12,735 new COVID-19 infections on Thursday (Sept 30), with the cumulative total number of infections now at 2,245,695.
In a tweet, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 17,725 patients have recovered, with the total discharge now standing at 2,054,824.
According to the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website, there were 192 deaths, bringing the death tally to 26,335.
Sarawak recorded the highest number of cases at 2,487, and this is followed by Selangor (1,940), Johor (1,241) and Kelantan (1,232).
“Of the current active cases, 924 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 510 of them in need of ventilator support,” Noor Hisham remarked. – Oct 1, 2021.
