THE Health Ministry has reported 1,352 new daily COVID-19 cases yesterday (May 2), which brings the cumulative number of cases to 4,450,859.
Of the 1,352, four are imported cases while 1,348 are local.
The CovidNow portal also said that there were 6,074 recoveries on Monday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 4,378,864.
Another five deaths attributed to COVID-19 were reported yesterday, with one brought in dead cases.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 35,555 deaths have been attributed to COVID-19.
The portal also reported that there were 36,440 active cases currently in the country, with 35,439, or 97.3%, observing home quarantine and five individuals admitted to low-risk quarantine and treatment centres.
The CovidNow portal reported that 996 patients, or 2.73% of the total, were currently admitted to hospital for treatment.
The number of COVID-19 patients warded at intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country stands at 66, with 44 of these patients requiring ventilation support. – May 3, 2022
