COVID-19: 15,215 new cases, 64 deaths

THE Health Ministry has reported 15,215 new daily COVID-19 cases yesterday (March 29), which brings the cumulative number of cases to 4,167,418.

Active cases currently stood at 236,024, down 21.1% compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows: Selangor (6,985), Kuala Lumpur (1,434), Negri Sembilan (974), Sarawak (828), Johor (751), Kedah (734), Perak (701), Penang (679), Pahang (554), Terengganu (403), Kelantan (362), Malacca (350), Sabah (251), Labuan (80), Perlis (66) and Putrajaya (63).

Another 64 deaths attributed to COVID-19 were reported yesterday, of which 14 were brought in dead.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 34,906 deaths have been attributed to COVID-19.

Meanwhile according to the CovidNow website there were 24,154 recoveries, bringing the cumulative total to 3,920,643.

Of the current cases, 282 cases required treatment in intensive care units (ICU) and 176 cases needed respiratory assistance. – March 30, 2022
