COVID-19: 153 fatalities as of today, new infections still above five-digit mark

MALAYSIA recorded a daily infection rate of 10,698 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 916,561.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 5,778 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 784,949.

“One hundred and fifty-three people have succumbed today, bringing the death tally to 7,019,” he added.

Selangor recorded the highest number of fresh cases with 4,828, followed by Kuala Lumpur (945), Johor (808) and Negeri Sembilan (771).

“Of the current active cases, 909 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 445 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – July 18, 2021.
