COVID-19: 17,150 new infections, S’gor still topping the list with 6,326

MALAYSIA’s daily infection rate of 17,150 cases today brings the country’s cumulative total to 1,130,422.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 11,326 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 925,965.

“160 people have succumbed today, bringing the death tally to 9,184,” he added.

Selangor recorded the highest number of fresh cases with 6,326 infections, followed by Kuala Lumpur (2,086), Kedah (1,511) and Johor (1,045).

“Of the current active cases, 1,059 patients are still receiving treatment in intensive care units (ICUs), with 531 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – Aug 1, 2021.
