COVID-19: 18,815 new cases, Sarawak still top of the list

MALAYSIA has logged 18,815 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday (Sept 16), thus bringing the cumulative total to 2,049,750.

According to the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website, 16,939 patients have recovered, with the total discharge now standing at 1,800,275.

There were 346 deaths, including those who had been brought in dead (BID), bringing the death tally to 22,355.

Sarawak has once again recorded the highest number of cases with 3,660 new infections recorded.

This is followed by Selangor (2,718), Johor (2,206) and Sabah (1,982).

Of the current active cases, 1,234 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 710 of them in need of ventilator support. – Sept 17, 2021.
