THE Health Ministry today reported 1,884new COVID-19 cases and two deaths as of 12pm today.
In a press conference today, the ministry’s director general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that 883 patients have recovered from the coronavirus as well.
“For now, the total cases of COVID-19 in the country is 56,659. The total recovery cases now stand at 42,480.
“With two deaths recorded today, the total number of those who have lost their lives to COVID-19 is now at 337,” he added.
Earlier today, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Yusoff said the Government will study the need to extend the conditional movement control order (CMCO) until end of the year due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases.
“The Government is aware of the hardships faced by the people during this economic downturn due to the pandemic.
“That’s why the SOPs (standard operating procedures) are constantly improved according to the situation,” he said, when winding up the debate on the Supply Bill 2021 in the Dewan Rakyat.
On related matter, the National Security Council (MKN) announced that businesses in states under the CMCO will be allowed to operate until midnight from tomorrow.
MKN made the announcement via Facebook and Telegram today. For now, businesses are only allowed to operate until 10pm.
Penang, Perak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan, Sabah and Labuan are currently under CMCO, while the partial lockdown in Kedah, Melaka, Terengganu and Johor was lifted recently, except for a few districts.- Nov 23, 2020.
