THE Health Ministry said 19,105 new daily COVID-19 cases were reported on Sunday (March 20), bringing the total cumulative cases to 3,993,124.
Active cases currently stood at 274,060, down 9.9% compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to the states are as follows: Selangor (6,761), Penang (1,772), Kuala Lumpur (1,659), Johor (1,441), Perak (1,300), Kedah (1,113), Pahang (1,110), Negri Sembilan (885), Sarawak (852), Terengganu (547), Kelantan (518), Melaka (508), Sabah (339), Putrajaya (133), Perlis (90) and Labuan 87).
Another 71 deaths attributed to COVID-19 were reported yesterday, of which 29 were declared brought in dead.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 34,400 deaths have been attributed to COVID-19.
Meanwhile according to the CovidNow website there were 28,250 recoveries, bringing the cumulative total to 3,684,665.
Of the current cases, 371 cases required treatment in intensive care units (ICU) and 203 cases needed respiratory assistance. – March 21, 2022
