COVID-19: 20,546 new cases on Sunday, Selangor still top with 7,303

MALAYSIA has recorded a daily infection rate of 20,546 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 1,404,899.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 16,945 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 1,145,128.

282 people have succumbed today, bringing the death tally to 12,510.

Selangor continues to top the list with 7,307 new cases, followed by Sabah (1,665), Kedah (1,596), Johor (1,508) and Kuala Lumpur (1,442).

“Of the current active cases, 1,059 patients are still receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 526 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – Aug 15, 2021
