COVID-19: 22,535 new cases, 87 deaths recorded on Sunday

THE Health Ministry said 22,535 new daily COVID-19 cases were reported on Sunday (March 13), bringing the total cumulative cases to 3,823,571.

Active cases currently stood at 320,877, up 9.5% compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to the states are as follows: Selangor (5,345), Kedah (2,332), Johor (1,973), Negri Sembilan (1,950), Kuala Lumpur (1,594), Penang (1,548), Sarawak (1,354), Pahang (1,352), Perak (1,292), Terengganu (1,039), Kelantan (1,005), Sabah (845), Melaka (563), Labuan (133), Putrajaya (121) and Perlis (89).

Another 87 deaths attributed to COVID-19 were reported yesterday, of which 25 were declared brought in dead.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 33,807 deaths have been attributed to COVID-19.

Meanwhile according to the CovidNow website there were 25,356 recoveries, bringing the cumulative total to 3,468,888.

Of the current cases, 384 cases required treatment in intensive care units (ICU) and 222 cases needed respiratory assistance. – March 14, 2022
