COVID-19: 5,291 new cases on Nov 3, with 4,947 recoveries

MALAYSIA has logged 5,291 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday (Nov 3), which brings the cumulative number of infections to 2,486,630.

In a statement, Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham said that of the new COVID-19 cases, 75 (1.4%) are in Categories three, four and five.

Category three refers to patients with pneumonia, Category four needs oxygen assistance and Category five requires respiratory assistance.

The remaining 5,216 cases (98.6%) were mild and asymptomatic infections in Categories one and two.

Meanwhile, according to the CovidNow website, 4,947 patients have recovered, bringing the total to 2,390,379.

There were 46 deaths, thus bringing the death tally to 29,091.

Of the current cases, 546 cases required treatment in intensive care units (ICU) and 286 cases needed respiratory assistance. – Nov 4, 2021
