COVID-19: 7,097 new cases, Selangor still top contributor

MALAYSIA recorded a daily infection rate of 7,097 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 799,790.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 4,863 patients have recovered, with the total discharged now stands at 719,678.

“91 people have succumbed today, bringing the death tally to 5,768,” he added.

Selangor recorded the highest number of fresh cases (3,119), followed by Kuala Lumpur (1,005), and Negeri Sembilan (788).

“Of the current active cases, 948 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 441 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – July 7, 2021
