COVID-19 rate at its all-time high, with 7,672 cases in S’gor

MALAYSIA has recorded an all-time high daily infection rate of 15,573 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 980,491.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 10,094 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 825,387.

“144 people have succumbed today, bringing the death tally to 7,718,” he added.

Selangor recorded the highest number of fresh cases with 7,672, followed by Kuala Lumpur (2,063), Kedah (937) and Johor (722).

“Of the current active cases, 939 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 456 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – July 23, 2021
