COVID-19: A whopping 835 new cases, two deaths today

PETALING JAYA: The Health Ministry today reported 835 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths as of 12pm today.

In his daily press conference, the ministry’s Director General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that Malaysia recorded 674 recoveries.

“Therefore, the total cases of COVID-19 in the country is at 28,640. The total recovery cases now stand at 18,499.

“With seven deaths today, the total number of those who have lost their lives to COVID-19 is now at 238,” he said.

On related matter, the government has placed several housing areas in Kuala Langat and Hulu Langat, Selangor, and Kuching, Sarawak under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).

The areas involved are the Sungai Emas flats on Jalan Emas 31 and 32 in Kuala Langat, Plaza Hentian Kajang in Hulu Langat, and Kampung Haji Baki in Kuching.

Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the EMCO was imposed after consultations with the health ministry.

The EMCO will take effect from tomorrow. – Oct 27, 2020
