COVID-19: Active clusters dive below 400-mark, death toll remains at single digit

THE Health Ministry announced 1,384 new COVID-19 infections and six deaths in the past 24 hours.

In a statement, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that there were 1,058 recoveries, bringing the total number of those recovered to 319,842.

“We have a total number of 335,540 infection cases as of now. Unfortunately, six people have lost their lives to the coronavirus, bringing the total death toll to 1,244,” he added.

All who lost their lives were locals.

As usual, Selangor detected the highest number of infections today at 625, followed by Johor (161) and Sarawak (140).

On related matter, Noor Hisham announced that his ministry has detected only three new clusters in the country.

All of them are workplace related.

“With that, we have 399 active clusters. A staggering 15 clusters have ended today. Three clusters that contributed to the high number of cases today are Subang Dua (185), Jalan Indah Gemilang Satu (73) and Tanjung Suria (63),” he remarked.- March 23, 2021.
