COVID-19: Cases see a downtick, Sarawak tops list with 2,943

MALAYSIA has logged 13,104 new COVID-19 infections on Sunday (Sept 26), with the cumulative total number of infections now at 2,198,235.

In a tweet, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 20,971 patients have recovered, with the total discharge now standing at 1,989,509.

According to the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website, there were 278 deaths, bringing the death tally to 25,437.

Sarawak recorded the highest daily figure with 2,943 new cases, followed by Selangor (1,558), Johor (1,455), and Kelantan (1,206).

“Of the current active cases, 1,050 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 582 of them in need of ventilator support,” Noor Hisham remarked. – Sept 27, 2021
