COVID-19: Death toll breaches 5k mark, over 900 in ICU

MALAYSIA recorded a daily infection rate of 6,437 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 745,703.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 5,298 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 677,751.

“One hundred and seven people have succumbed today, bringing the death tally to 5,108,” he added.

Selangor recorded the highest number of fresh cases with 2,299, followed by Kuala Lumpur (1,361), Negeri Sembilan (700) and Kedah (284).

“Of the current active cases, 905 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 455 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – June 29, 2021.
