COVID-19: Death toll nearing 5k mark, what’s next for the Gov’t?

WITH the lockdown extended, Malaysia recorded a daily infection rate of 5,586 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 734,048.

In a statement, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 4,777 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 667,709.

“Sixty people have succumbed today, bringing the death tally to 4,944,” he added.

Selangor recorded the highest number of fresh cases with 2,212, followed by Kuala Lumpur (628), Sarawak (513) and Negeri Sembilan (501).

“Of the current active cases, 886 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 446 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – June 27, 2021.
