COVID-19: Death toll remains at two digits for days, new cases hover over 2k

NEW COVID-19 infections remain dangerously high as Malaysia recorded 2,776 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 395,718.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 1,803 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 369,556.

“Thirteen people have died today, bringing the death tally to 1,449,” he added.

Selangor recorded the highest number of cases again (762), followed by Sarawak (615), Kelantan (343) and Kuala Lumpur (254).

“Of the current active cases, 300 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 133 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – April 26, 2021.
