THE Health Ministry has reported 4,094 COVID-19 cases and 10 deaths in the past 24 hours.
In a statement today, Health Ministry’s director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also said that there were 3,281 recoveries, bringing the total number of those recovered to 154,299.
He also noted that 4,086 cases were local transmissions while the rest are imported infections. In addition, out of 4,086 locally transmitted cases, 3,328 of them were locals and 758 were foreigners.
“For now, the total number of infections stands at 198,208. Unfortunately, 10 people have lost their lives to the virus, bringing the total number of fatalities to 717,” he said.
Currently, there are 303 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit (ICU) with 118 requiring ventilator support.
Meanwhile, Selangor recorded the highest number of cases with 1,577 infections, followed by Johor (717) and Kuala Lumpur (678).
On related matter, Noor Hisham announced that nine new clusters have been discovered in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of active clusters to 372. – Jan 28, 2021
