COVID-19: Infection rate hovers around 5k, death toll still at two-digits

MALAYSIA recorded a lower daily infection rate at 5,566 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 627,652.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 6,962 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 541,319.

“Seventy-six have died today, bringing the death tally to 3,536,” he added.

Selangor recorded the highest number of cases again with 1,524, followed by Sarawak (707), Negeri Sembilan (505) and Kuala Lumpur (466).

“Of the current active cases, 903 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 458 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – June 8, 2021.
