COVID-19 shows no sign of abating with Malaysia recording a daily infection rate of 5,803 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 728,462.
In a statement, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 5,193 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 662,932.
“Eighty-one people have succumbed today, bringing the death tally to 4,884,” he added.
Selangor recorded the highest number of cases again with 2,108, followed by Negeri Sembilan (741), Kuala Lumpur (628) and Sarawak (491).
“Of the current active cases, 866 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 435 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – June 26, 2021.
