COVID-19: Infections level still high with Sarawak leading the list

AS the mass vaccination programme continues, Malaysia recorded 2,078 new COVID-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 377,132.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 1,402 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 355,224.

“Eight people have died today, bringing the death tally to 1,386,” he added.

Sarawak recorded the highest number of cases today with 589, followed by Selangor (457) and Kelantan (290).

“Of the current active cases, 228 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 93 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – April 17, 2021.
