COVID-19: Infections rise to 5,726 with 84 deaths

MALAYSIA has recorded 5,726 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday (Oct 26), bringing the cumulative cases to 2,444,224.

In a statement, Dr Noor Hisham said that a total of 98.3% (5,629) of the new cases reported were in Categories 1 and 2, while the rest (1.7% or 97 cases) were in Categories 3, 4 and 5.

Meanwhile, according to the CovidNow website, 5,607 patients have recovered, bringing the total to 2,340,390.

There were 84 deaths, thus bringing the death tally to 28,576.

Of the current cases, 584 cases required treatment in intensive care units and 305 cases needed respiratory assistance. – Oct 27, 2021
