MIMOS Bhd has confirmed that an employee at its Technology Park Malaysia (TPM) office in Bukit Jalil tested positive for Covid-19 on Mar 18, and is receiving medical attention. A prohibition of entry to Mimos until March 31 has been issued.
The affected employee, a 28-year-old engineer, sought treatment after developing symptoms, and was subsequently diagnosed with Covid-19. This has led to Mimos intensifying control measures to prevent the virus from spreading further.
Precautionary measures had been started since the beginning of the outbreak in 2019, with arrangements already made for the temporary closure of its offices in TPM as well as in Kulim Hi-Tech Park in Kedah from March 18 to 31, in line with the Movement Control Order (MCO).
Employees who have been in direct contact with the engineer between March 2 and 12 were also asked to undergo screening and testing, as well as observe a 14-day self-quarantine. – March 19, 2020
