COVID-19: More nabbed for flouting SOPs

THE health ministry has reported 1,925 Covid-19 cases and two deaths in the past 24 hours.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 1,123 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 86,715.

In a statement, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 108,615.

A total of 142 people nationwide were nabbed for flouting Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP), yesterday.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said all 142 were slapped with compounds.

“Among the offences were failure to provide registration materials for customers to enter premises (78), not wearing a mask (53), and failure to adhere to physical distancing practices (9) and others (2),” he said in a statement. – Dec 29, 2020
