COVID-19: New cases nears 16k mark, mostly concentrated in the Klang Valley

Malaysia recorded even higher daily infection of 15,902 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 996,393.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 9,471 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 834,858.

“184 people have succumbed today, bringing the death tally to 7,902,” he added.

Selangor recorded the highest number of fresh cases with 7,351, followed by Kuala Lumpur (2,406), Kedah (867) and Johor (804).

“Of the current active cases, 950 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 468 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – July 24, 2021.
