COVID-19: New clusters soar to 13, workplace related tops the chart

THE Health Ministry announced 1,208 new COVID-19 infections and three deaths in the past 24 hours.

In a statement, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that there were 1,973 recoveries, bringing the total number of those recovered to 308,247.

“We have a total number of 324,971 infection cases as of now. Unfortunately, three people have lost their lives to the coronavirus, bringing the total death toll to 1,213,” he added.

Two who died were locals and the rest was a foreigner.

Selangor detected the highest number of infections today at 379, followed by Sarawak (251) and Penang (142).

On related matter, Noor Hisham announced that his ministry has detected a staggering 13 new clusters in the country.

Twelve of them are workplace related and the one is a religious institution.

“With that, we have 431 active clusters. Six clusters have ended today. Three clusters that contributed to the high number of cases today are Tanjung Suria (29), Ladang Bukit (29) and Jalan Mega Lima (22),” he added. – March 15, 2021.
