COVID-19: New infections dip below 5k mark, over 800 in ICU

MALAYSIA’s daily infection rate dropped to 4,611 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 701,019.

In a statement, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 5,439 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 633,624.

“Sixty-nine have passed on today, bringing the death tally to 4,477,” he added.

Selangor recorded the highest number of cases again with 1,346, followed by Sarawak (682), Perak (453) and Negeri Sembilan (437).

“Of the current active cases, 880 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 452 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – June 21, 2021.
