COVID-19: New record in daily cases, more than 10k in Klang Valley

MALAYSIA recorded a daily infection rate of 17,405 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 1,061,476.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 12,373 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 877,812.

“143 people have succumbed today, bringing the death tally to 8,551,” he added.

Selangor remained the state with the most cases, recording 7,171 new infections, followed by Kuala Lumpur (2,880), Kedah (1,112) and Sabah (913).

“Of the current active cases, 1,016 patients are still in receiving treatment in intensive care units (ICUs), with 529 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – July 28, 2021.
