COVID-19: Only two new clusters detected today as new infection cases dip

THE Health Ministry announced 1,470 new COVID-19 infections and three deaths in the past 24 hours.

In a statement, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that there were 1,830 recoveries, bringing the total number of those recovered to 304,492.

“We have a total number of 322,409 infection cases as of now. Unfortunately, three people have lost their lives to the coronavirus, bringing the total death toll to 1,206,” he added.

All those who died were locals.

Selangor detected the highest number of infections today at 551, followed by Sarawak (222) and Penang (178).

On related matter, Noor Hisham announced that his ministry has detected only two new clusters in the country.

Both clusters are workplace related.

“With that, we have 426 active clusters. Sixteen clusters have ended today itself. Three clusters that contributed to the high number of cases today are Jalan Salak construction site (73), Lintang Bayan Lepas (56) and Tembok Tapah (49),” he remarked. – March 13, 2021.
