COVID-19: Over a million infections while National Recovery Plan continues

MALAYSIA seems to be heading for COVID-19 uncertainty as the country records 17,045 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 1,013,438.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 9,683 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 844,541.

“Ninety-two people have succumbed today, bringing the death tally to 7,994,” he added.

Selangor recorded the highest number of fresh cases with 8,500, followed by Kuala Lumpur (2,045), Kedah (1,216) and Johor (950).

“Of the current active cases, 970 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 501 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – July 25, 2021.
