MALAYSIA recorded a lower daily infection rate at 5,911 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 691,115.
In a statement, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 6,918 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 622,244.
“Seventy-two have died today, bringing the death tally to 4,348,” he added.
Selangor recorded the highest number of cases again with 2,111, followed by Negeri Sembilan (770) Sarawak (569) and Johor (498).
“Of the current active cases, 886 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 441 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – June 19, 2021.
