COVID-19: Recoveries beat new cases, over 300 deaths yesterday

Earlier today, Health Ministry’s CovidNow website indicated 324 deaths for yesterday, bringing total fatality to 23,067.

“Of the current active cases, 1,165 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 690 of them in need of ventilator support,” the site indicated.

As of yesterday, COVID-19 cases in the country dropped as the authorities detected 15,549 infections, bringing the cumulative total to 2,082,876.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 17,205 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 1,840,453.

Sarawak recorded the highest number of fresh cases with 2,929, followed by Johor (2,208), Selangor (1,995) and Sabah (1,395). – Sept 19, 2021.
