THE Health Ministry announced 3,847 new COVID-19 infections and 12 deaths in the past 24 hours.
In a statement, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that there were 1,692 recoveries, bringing the total number of those recovered to 186,970.
“We have a total number of 238,721 infection cases as of now. Unfortunately, 12 people have lost their lives to the coronavirus, bringing the total death toll to 857,” he added.
Among the deceased, eight were locals while the rest were of foreign nationality.
Selangor still recorded the highest number of infections with 1,481, followed by Johor (585) and Kuala Lumpur (402).
On related matter, Noor Hisham announced that his ministry has detected 12 new clusters in the country.
Out of the number, 11 are work placed related and the one involves high-risk community.
“With that, we have 441 active clusters. Five clusters have ended today; which are Rapat, Jalan SEDCO, Rambai, Jalan Nikolas and Ria-30,” he added. – Feb 6, 2021.
