COVID-19: Recoveries slightly surpass new infections, 17 new clusters

THE Health Ministry announced 3,384 new COVID-19 infections and 13 deaths in the past 24 hours.

In a statement, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that there were 3,774 recoveries, bringing the total number of those recovered to 202,269.

“We have a total number of 254,988 infection cases as of now. Unfortunately, 13 people have lost their lives to the coronavirus, bringing the total death toll to 936,” he added.

Eleven of the deceased were locals, while the rest were foreigners.

Selangor still recorded the highest number of infections with 1,082, followed by Johor (777) and Kuala Lumpur (435).

On related matter, Noor Hisham announced that his ministry has detected 17 new clusters in the country.

Out of the number, 13 are workplace related, three community-based and one high-risk group.

“With that, we have 477 active clusters. Six clusters have ended today; which are Kampung Pitas, Permai construction site, Keladi, Jalan Nakhoda, Tembok Choh and Langit Selatan. – Feb 11, 2021.
