COVID-19: Recovery cases exceed number of new infections on Oct 10

MALAYSIA has logged 7,373 new COVID-19 infections on Sunday (Oct 10), with the cumulative total number of infections now at 2,339,594.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement said from the 7,373 new cases of COVID-19, 98.2% or 7,240 of them were in categories one and two, showing no symptoms or displaying mild symptoms.

Meanwhile, 133 cases or 1.8% are in categories three, four, and five.

According to the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website, 10,959 patients have recovered, with the total discharge now standing at 2,195,669.

There were 64 deaths recorded, bringing the death tally to 27,329.

Of the current cases, 762 cases required treatment in intensive care units and 410 cases needed respiratory assistance. – Oct 10, 2021
