COVID-19: Selangor breaches 3k on daily tally, over 100 dead

Malaysia recorded a daily infection rate of 6,658 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 772,607.

In a statement, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 5,677 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 700,215.

“One hundred and seven people have succumbed today, bringing the death tally to 5,434,” he added.

Selangor recorded the highest number of fresh cases with 3,047, followed by Negeri Sembilan (699), Kuala Lumpur (616) and Johor (414).

“Of the current active cases, 892 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 443 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – July 3, 2021.
