COVID-19: S’gor, KL on high alert for rising infections, over 900 in ICU

MALAYSIA recorded 6,387 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, July 5, bringing the cumulative total to 785,039.

In a tweet, the Health Ministry said of the figure, 6,361 were local infections while 26 were imported cases.

Another 77 people succumbed to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the country’s death toll to 5,574.

There were 4,532 recoveries, with the total recovered at 710,018 to date.

Currently, there are 69,447 active cases, in which 923 are in intensive care units (ICU), with 433 requiring ventilator support.

Selangor recorded the highest number of cases at 2,610, followed by Kuala Lumpur (819) and Negeri Sembilan (523).
