COVID-19: S’gor leads daily cases again; 134 dead

Malaysia’s daily infection rate of 16,840 cases today brings the country’s cumulative total to 1,095,486.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 12,179 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 902,921.

“134 people have succumbed today, bringing the death tally to 8,859,” he added.

Selangor recorded the highest number of fresh cases with 6,092 infections, followed by Kuala Lumpur (2,114), Kedah (1,281) and Johor (1,104).

“Of the current active cases, 1,055 patients are still receiving treatment in intensive care units (ICUs), with 532 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – July 30, 2021.
