COVID-19: Sixteen clusters ended today, active clusters now below 500 mark

THE Health Ministry announced 2,364 new COVID-19 infections and 10 deaths in the past 24 hours.

In a statement, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that there were 3,320 recoveries, bringing the total number of those recovered to 270,166.

“We have a total number of 298,315 infection cases as of now. Unfortunately, 10 people have lost their lives to the coronavirus, bringing the total death toll to 1,121,” he added.

Of the dead, eight were locals and the rest were foreigners.

Selangor detected the highest number of infections today at 862, followed by Johor (314) and Perak (305).

On related matter, Noor Hisham announced that his ministry has detected eight new clusters in the country.

Seven of them are work place related and the other is community based.

“With that, we have 485 active clusters. Sixteen clusters have ended today itself. Three clusters that contributed to the high number of cases today are Jalan Tasek Avenue (209), Jalan Sebelas (170) and Sinsingon (67). – Feb 27, 2021.
