COVID-19: Slight dip in number of cases, 277 new deaths

MALAYSIA has recorded 21,468 new COVID-19 cases today, bringing the country’s cumulative total to 1,363,683.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 17,025 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 1,110,528.

Meanwhile, 277 people have succumbed today, bringing the death tally to 11,968.

Selangor recorded the highest number of fresh cases with 7,449 infections, followed by Kuala Lumpur (2,183), Kedah (1,807) and Sabah (1,654).

“Of the current active cases, 1,075 patients are still receiving treatment in intensive care units (ICUs), with 537 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – Aug 13, 2021.
