THE number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise, reaching new record highs every other day, with today (Friday) standing at 20,889.
Selangor alone recorded 8,792 new infections within the last 24 hours, which is still the highest contributing state in the country.
During that time, there were also another 160 deaths due to the virus, bringing the total to 10,179.
However, there were 16,394 patients discharged, a new record within a day, adding to the total of 993,020 of those recovered.
Within the 221,396 active cases currently, 1,096 of them are intensive care units (ICUs) and 545 in need of ventilator support. – Aug 6, 2021
