DESPITE a “total lockdown”, Malaysia recorded an alarming 7,452 new COVID-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 610,574.
In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 6,105 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 521,676.
“One hundred and nine people have died today, bringing the death tally to 3,291,” he added.
Selangor recorded the highest number of cases again with 2,509, followed by Negeri Sembilan (843), Kuala Lumpur (678) and Sarawak (651)
“Of the current active cases, 886 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 44 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – June 5, 2021.
