ACTRESS Fazura Sharifuddin’s attempt at launching a singing career has made the headlines albeit the unwanted kind.
Her off-key performance briefly became a trending topic in Malaysia on the X platform with netizens not holding back with their comments.
On Nov 5, Fazura who is a mother to a four-year-old daughter took the opportunity to promote her latest single, Bertahan Demi Cinta, while being interviewed in Indonesia.
The song which was recorded with her ex-spouse, Fattah Amin, was released on Oct 7 – just two days after they officially split.
Produced by Ippo Hafiz and published by Indonesian music label Hits Records, the song was recorded back in February when the couple was still together.
One netizen has, however, taken the pains to edit a mock video of Fazura’s performance to include shocked looks from the judges of popular reality competition show, Britain’s Got Talent.

X user 요시로 왕자 (@Cool_Wannabe82 @) who shared the 30-second clip wondered who had the time to edit this hilarious clip. The post has since been viewed 840,500 times with many netizens unable to hold back their laughter.
Many applauded the editing skills of the person who made the clip, contending that he/she provided great entertainment.
One suggested that the combination of creativity, technology and an abundance of free time led to much hilarity.
Though one did ask if the creator of the clip could be sued by Fazura.
Some netizens asked just why actors who could not sing felt the need to try their hand at it. Why couldn’t they just stick to acting?
However, one took exception to the video, citing this as a clear case of cyber-bullying.
However, one commenter said the 41-year-old actor invited ridicule for agreeing to perform the song live on TV.
While another reckoned that it was shameful to expose her lack of talent on a foreign country’s TV show.
Even musician and actor Rashidi Ishak had taken to social media to suggest that Fazura hire a vocal coach, noting that she appeared to be “tone deaf”.
