“Current govt in shambles due to lack of favour from God,” claims PAS MP

CHAOS had erupted in Parliament this afternoon when a PAS MP said he had personally prayed for the downfall of the previous Pakatan Harapan administration, adding that he would do the same for the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim-led government as well.

While debating the Budget 2024 in the Dewan Rakyat session, Pasir Puteh MP Datuk Dr Nik Muhammad Zawawi Salleh had raised the issue of allocations to opposition MPs which he claimed was unfair.

He went on to claim that the Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional (PH-BN) coalition government will collapse because it does not get nusrah (help) from Allah SWT.

“The government that exists today is in shambles. Why? Because there is no favour from Allah SWT,” the MP claimed.

“Allah SWT did not soften the hearts of people to be with the government. Why? This is because the government is acting beyond the limits of humanity.”

According to Nik Muhammad Zawawi, allocations are not personal propriety but belong to the people and the country, and as such, it must be distributed.

“Let’s not let the people in our country once again flood Kuala Lumpur like the Anti-ICERD rally that can bring down the government,” he said.

“God willing, I don’t think this government will last long, but if this goes on the government will meet its end.”

The Anti-ICERD Rally (International Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination) or the Peaceful Rally Against ICERD or the 812 Rally (in conjunction with the date of the rally) was a rally held at Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Dec 8, 2018.

It saw right-wing forces pressure the Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad-led PH government not to accede to the global anti-racism convention.

Citing Regulation 36(6) of the Dewan Rakyat’s Standing Orders which states that no member should impute improper motives to any other members, Jelutong MP RSN Rayer had demanded that Nik Muhammad Zawawi retract his statement, saying such sentiments could divide the people in the country. – Oct 25, 2023
