Datasonic clinches RM40 mil National Registration Department project

DATASONIC Group Bhd, a prominent security-related integrated ICT solutions provider, has accepted a letter of award (LOA) from the Home Ministry for the comprehensive maintenance services of card personalisation centres at the National Registration Department (NRD) valued at RM39.8 mil for a 24-month duration commencing June 1 to May 31 2023.

Having been the maintenance and technical services provider for NRD’s personalisation centres over the years, the contract is a testimony of Datasonic’s in-depth technical expertise to deliver exceptional services to the Government, according to the company’s group managing director/CEO Wan Zalizan Wan Jusoh.

“We are delighted to have secured this contract as it demonstrates the confidence entrusted to us by the Government and highlights our proven track record and established technical capabilities,” commented Wan Zalizan.

“Awarded through our wholly-owned subsidiary, Datasonic Technologies Sdn Bhd, this contract will provide us earnings visibility for the next two years.”

Moving forward, Wan Zalizan expressed optimism of clinching more projects in both the domestic and overseas markets.

“Despite a challenging business and operating environment given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this contract definitely will enhance our order book and provide initial momentum to Datasonic for this new financial year,” he projected.

“We are confident that Datasonic will continue to deliver promising financial results for 2022.”

Additionally, Datasonic will also implement the Professional Training & Education for Growing Entrepreneurs (PROTÉGÉ) programme at no costs to the Government.

At the close of today’s trading, Datasonic was unchanged at 51.5 sen with 16.61 million shares traded, thus valuing the company at RM1.52 bil. – June 2, 2021
