Four dead by drugs at pinkfish concert: netizens call for stern action

FOR some concert goers, drugs and booze are mandatory take-along substances.

And perhaps this is also why some of these individuals ended up taking up headlines in newspapers for all the wrong reasons.

It is certainly free publicity for the concert organisers, but is there no other way?

Just recently, four individuals made the headlines for kicking the bucket at the recent pinkfish concert. The cause? Apparently they died from an overdose of ecstasy pills.

More than just the waste of human lives, this is also a wake up call for stricter regulations.

Netizens by the droves turned up in the comment section to either condemn the dead for their foolishness or to call for a ban on future concerts.

“Party safe guys. It’s not the problem of the concert but the problem of the individual,” said another netizen.

Then there were others who urged the authorities to investigate until the sellers of such substances were caught.

Ab added that nowadays, it was easy to get drugs. “I thought it was only easy to get it at the Golok border,” said Ab.

“Just enjoy the concert. Why is it necessary to take such pills? I don’t understand. If you are tired then sit at home and don’t go to the pinkfish concert. Drugs is such garbage,” said Adidi.

On another note, Netizen TukangGigi in a sarcastic flair said it was fortunate that the event wasn’t hosted in Kelantan or the world of twitter would shudder.

The authorities have since made a statement regarding the case, claiming that a total of seven victims were identified, with similar symptoms.

Irrespective of the four deceased, another two are currently receiving treatment at the intensive care unit at the hospital. —Jan 3, 2025
